Schedule time with me online or in-person immediately if you are struggling to find articles to support your literature review – do not wait until your next tutoring session.
- During weeks 1, 2, and 3: Read as many articles as necessary; complete a problem statement, thesis statement, section outline; submit first body paragraph; continue drafting body paragraphs according to key sections.
- Remember to keep revisiting your thesis statement, making sure that the key sections of your literature review directly (and explicitly) link to the key points at the end of your thesis statement and your research questions. We want to make sure that when you begin collecting your data on March 1, 2024, that your study relates to your literature review.
- Avoid organizing your literature review as a “history lesson”. It’s fine to include some of the old with the new if it relates to your research questions and overall objective of your study: to address a problem. You address a problem by organizing your thesis and literature review sections by proposing possible solutions to the problem.
